The Raymond R. Delaney Memorial Scholarship
Most recently, he restructured and realigned the TVHS course offerings to maximize the students’ accrual of college credits through partnerships with local universities and colleges. His hands-on approach has been heralded as a perfect fit for students experiencing the often-distracting early teen and teen years.
Jim also wrote about himself - “the student I was on paper didn’t reflect who I actually was. . . my enrollment forms would have illustrated a student in poverty, from a trailer park quite literally on the wrong side of the tracks . . .with an adoptive mother who worked in the fast food industry. Luckily, I benefitted from some outstanding administrators and teachers who looked past the data and understood that demography is truly not destiny.”
James has a Certificate of Advanced Study from the University of Rochester, a master’s degree from SUNY Brockport, and is a graduate of the Superintendent Development Program at SUNY Oswego. He is currently enrolled in the Doctoral Program in the Esteves School of Education at the Sage Colleges.
