Retired Life Member Dr. Marilyn C. Terranova, former superintendent from Eastchester received The Council’s highest honor for her exemplary standards of educational service and leadership at the Celebration of Leadership on September 24, 2017. You can read Marilyn's remarks here!

The Selection Process
Retired Life Members are eligible to receive The Council’s Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor that The Council can bestow. This award, for which retirees are only eligible, is given in recognition of that one individual who has shown exemplary commitment to public education after retirement. The award is presented at our Celebration of Leadership at our Fall Leadership Summit in September of each year.
Seeking Nominations for 2018
The Council is seeking nomination letters for the 2018 Distinguished Service Award. Nomination letters can be written by members or by staff of The Council and sent by Friday, June 22, 2018 for inclusion in the selection process. The Distinguished Service Committee, composed of current Council presidents and past presidents who are active superintendents, will make final selection over the summer.
