During this 1 ½ day workshop, participants
will discuss:
- Reflect on year one of the superintendency
and lessons learned through facilitated conversations aligned with symbolic,
structural, human resource and political leadership lenses
- Addressing Complex Challenges –
identify challenges, explore solutions and develop action steps.
- Planning Your Year – revisit the
year in the life of the superintendent, discuss balancing leading and doing, nurture
healthy and productive superintendent/board relations.
- Launching the School Year-
strategize your focus and messaging for students, faculty and staff and your
school community
- Delve into advanced budgeting and
financial planning – discuss everything you need to know about school taxes and
how to explain it to your community
- Long-range financial planning –
understanding, building and using fund balance and reserves
- Advanced financial work activities
in rural/small, suburban/medium, and urban/large districts.

set aside at the Desmond Crowne Plaza at the rate of $150/night for August 9-11,
