Early Career Superintendents Institute | Session 2
The second session of the Early Career Superintendents Institute will focus on school district financial leadership. The overarching goal of the session is to expand participants’ capacity to lead their district to a position of long term fiscal stability as it delivers on its mission to prepare students for their future.  As such, the content will toggle between the concepts of broad, long range, strategic planning and shorter term tasks of budget development, and the management of fund balance and reserves.

Other topics to be reviewed and discussed include the potential impact of regionalization, grants management, tax cap issues, and more. 
Strategies for effective, transparent, trust building communication with the board, district and community stakeholders will be woven throughout the session. 

Break out discussion/sharing sessions for similarly situated school districts will be included in the program.

Dates/Times: Monday, November 16 / 1:30-4:30 P.M., followed by networking reception 5-6 P.M. & Tuesday, November 17 / 8 A.M. – 2 P.M.

Location: NYSCOSS & LEAF, Inc. Training Center 15 Cornell Road, Latham, NY 12110 

Cost: $409 NYSCOSS Member, $439 non-member, includes meals and materials for two-day program.

Audience: Superintendents in years 2-5 of their superintendent career.
