JASON Learning Partnership
Education Through Exploration
JASON Learning is a non-profit organization that connects students to real science and exploration to inspire them to study and pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
JASON produces rigorous and engaging K-12 STEM curricula that connect standards-aligned core content with real-life research and exploration, proven to motivate students to excel in these challenging subjects. The JASON curricula are available online and in print, and include multi-media resources such as videos, games, live webcasts, hands-on labs and more.
Three million K-12 students each year take part in JASON Learning, which has been shown in several district-wide studies in Texas and Virginia to increase interest and achievement in STEM subjects.
What does The Council/JASON Learning Partnership mean for New York State Schools?
As a member of The Council’s Strategic Partner Program, JASON Learning is available across New York at a significant discount. Contact JASON directly for more information on bringing this exciting program to your schools. You can also visit JASON’s website at www.jason.org.
In addition to accessing JASON Learning’s award-winning curricula and online Mission Center, participating New York State teachers and students will have the opportunity to compete for acceptance in JASON’s National Argonaut Program. JASON’s National Argonaut program has engaged over 460 students and educators worldwide in hands-on, scientific field work. National Argonauts participate in scientific research with peers and scientists and return to their communities as mentors and role models.
JASON Learning is working with The Council and regional BOCES across the state to provide professional development and training to STEM teachers and staff. Interested districts may contact JASON Learning directly or participate in trainings and informational sessions held at regional BOCES locations.
