Supporting Women in Educational Leadership Summit /  Cabinet Leadership Summit

May 18 & 19, 2017 / Saratoga Springs Embassy Suites

The Women’s Initiative Summit focused on supporting women educational leaders to inspire more women to seek leadership positions in education. The program featurde Commissioner of Education Mary Ellen Elia; parallels from the business world to the education world; and compensation negotiation for women.

The annual Cabinet Leadership Summit is designed to bring assistant and deputy superintendents, directors and principals together as well as other school leaders from across New York State. Our goal is to cultivate an annual event which promotes community and the opportunity to share knowledge and develop stronger connections with statewide colleagues. This year's event featured Ebony Bridwell-Mitchell, Harvard Graduate School of Education on organizational leadership. Council Executive Director Charles Dedrick discussed The Council's vision for cabinet leadership. Other topics included ESSA updates and instructional leadership.
