Procurement Card (p-Card) Program
The Council has partnered with the New York State Association of School Business Officials (NYSASBO) to offer a competitive and fully customizable Procurement Card (p-Card) Program.
This free member service harnesses the power of community to provide a p-Card program unlike those offered by many banks because it offers competitive rebates for purchasing goods and services in your school district.
The p-Card streamlines the purchasing process by automating the procurement process resulting in time and money savings. As a member of The Council, you can join this no-fees program*, which is currently used by over 600 school districts across 15 states.
How Does it Work?
Purchasing Cards or p-Cards look and operate similarly to credit cards; however they do not carry a revolving line of credit. These special cards have limits to control transaction amounts, purchases, and locations where purchases can be made. The authorization parameters can be reviewed and managed 24/7 through a secure web portal by district administration.
Other key advantages to the p-Card Program include:
Eliminating the cost and hassle of negotiating a purchasing card contract;
Providing a tested, easy-to-use program with no startup costs or annual fees to the district;
Combining purchasing power to provide a larger rebate than could be obtained with a stand-alone district contract;
Allowing your school district to ensure adequate controls and proper audit trails;
Creating a user group/support network not obtainable with multiple programs and different contracts;
Providing excellent training and user group support.
