Creating New Learning Initiatives and Adapting to the Professional Development Needs of Superintendent Leaders
The Council offers comprehensive professional development services to ensure the success of educational leaders and the students they serve.
Established in 2006, the Leadership for Educational Achievement Foundation, Inc. (LEAF, Inc.) serves as the professional development arm of the The Council. LEAF, Inc. provides high quality professional learning to support superintendent development (pre-service and in-service) and the development of school district leadership team members. In partnership with The Council, LEAF’s programs are research-based, aligned to the needs of the field, responsive to changing expectations for school leaders, and cost effective.
Emphasizing Community, Building Leadership Capacity, and Developing an Advocacy Focused Event
Statewide, annual conferences have been designed to offer professional development, emphasize the “Community of Superintendents” and build leadership capacity. They provide exceptional opportunities to expand and enrich members' expertise and knowledge in the area of educational administration. They also play an important role with the revenue stream that supports The Council’s programs and services.
The Fall Leadership Summit; Legal Briefings; and Winter Institute and Lobby Day are open to all New York State superintendents, deputy and assistant superintendents, Strategic Partners, retired life members and friends of The Council.
